The Logan City School District announces a vacancy on the Board of Education. Connie Morgan, Board member from District 4, which includes the Adams Elementary neighborhood, will be moving out of the voting district. Her resignation will become effective at 5:01 pm on February 28, 2018.
The Logan City School District will accept applications from residents of District 4 until 3:00 pm on February 6, 2018. In order to represent District 4 patrons must have lived in the Logan City School District for at least one (1) year, be a bona fide resident of District 4, and must remain a registered voter in the District. Because employees of the District may not concurrently serve as Board members, current employees of the Logan City School District who desire to serve on the Board must be willing to resign from their employment effective March 1, 2018. The person selected to fill this position as an interim Board member will serve from March 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018.
Individuals who are interested in serving as the District 4 representative on the Board beyond December 31, 2018 are encouraged to file for candidacy with the Cache County Clerk/Auditor between March 9 - March 15, 2018. Those individuals will then be candidates to fill the remaining two years of the term, from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020.
Interviews of all applicants will occur in an open meeting during the week of February 13-16, 2018. Following the interviews, the Board of Education will meet in a closed session to discuss the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of the applicants.
Appointment of the Interim School Board member will be made in an open meeting on February 27, 2018 at 5:00 pm at: 101 West Center St. Logan, UT
