EMPLOYEE SELECTION AND CRITERIA FOR HIRING
Logan City School District is committed to fairness in the selection of all employees. All applicants for positions in the district will be given careful consideration. It is the policy of Logan City School District that there be no discrimination on the grounds of race, color, sex, marital status, religion, national origin, age or disability in employment. The Personnel Director of the district is responsible to see that the selection process is uniform and meets Federal Equal Opportunity Employment guidelines.
DESIGNATION OF AUTHORITY
All staff members of the district will be recommended to the Board of Education for employment, termination, or contract non-renewal by the Personnel Director with the advice and consent of the Superintendent. In determining the recommendation, the advice of the building principal and the selection committee will be considered. Should a recommended person be rejected by the Board, it shall be the Personnel Director’s and Superintendent’s duty to make another recommendation.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
Written criteria relative to the position requirements will be used in selecting applicants for recommendation to the Board. The selection process shall be uniform in application to all applicants. All applicants shall be informed of the criteria and procedures associated with the selection process prior to an interview or during the interview. All personnel selected must be appropriately certified or have the necessary provisional certification from the State Board of Education.
