Human Trafficking Prevention

Course Information:

The goal of this course is to learn about what human trafficking is and where it is happening in order to become better informed about how it affects children in Utah. This training  will provide you with information about human trafficking and trauma, including the vulnerabilities and risks factors, so that you are equipped to use trauma-informed approaches when identifying and reporting suspected exploitation.

After completing the course, a copy of your certificate should be submitted with your critical policies signature form, and given to your supervising administrator.

This course is required every 2 years

Purpose:

Utah State Legislature's House Bill (H.B.) 286: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention requires the following actions:

  • requires Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to use the instructional materials approved by the Board to provide child sexual abuse and human trafficking prevention and awareness training and instruction of school personnel in elementary and secondary schools.
  • Utah State Board of Education has approved instructional materials from the following provider for child sexual abuse and human trafficking prevention.
