Mount Logan Middle School helps students begin planning for college & career
Mount Logan Middle School is committed to the Logan City School District mission: Ensure all students leave our schools ready to create a positive future for themselves and their community. Students who prepare for college and specific career paths are more likely to create a positive future themselves. Mount Logan Middle School helps students plan for college and career through a variety of strategies and activities. When you visit Mount Logan Middle School, you will see the walls covered with college flags and information about attending college. Students will also participate in a variety of activities designed to encourage them to set their sights on college. The goal at MLMS is that 100% of students will visit both a trade school and at least one college campus.
Students will also participate in a well-structured Career Day and our annual Reality Town activity where students receive an imaginary career and salary based on their interests and current GPA and will role play real life activities such as paying bills as well as buying food, clothing, and recreational activities.
Mount Logan Middle School is proud to qualify for and receive funding from the national Gear Up grant which helps pay for a significant portion of the materials, staffing, equipment, and learning activities that keep our students focused on preparing for college and career. We can't wait to see the positive influence that each one of our students will have in the future.
