ParentGuidance.org

LCSD is excited to partner with the Cook Center and their website ParentGuidance.org on a program offering help to student’s parents and families.  To get started, go to ParentGuidance.org and create a free account.  Take a look around - all resources on the website are free for you to use.

The program has 4 components specifically designed to help parents with the social emotional issues that they are dealing with in their families

• Monthly district-specific webinar 

  • To view a list of the monthly webinars, dates, times and topics click HERE.  You will need to register separately for each webinar you wish to attend.

• Parental coaching

  • Once you are signed in to your ParentGuidance.org account, you will see some choices at the top of the screen.   Click on “school coaching” to sign up for a trained parenting coach.

  • Coaching is just what it sounds like;  one-on-one help with a trained professional for the issues that are facing you and your family.   Coaching is free and confidential.

• Online parenting courses

  • While signed in to your ParentGuidance.org account, click on “courses” at the top of the page.  Here you can browse all of the online courses that are available to you. 

  • You can take as many courses as you like, whenever you like - on your schedule and in the privacy of your own home.

• Ask a Therapist

  • On ParentGuidance.org, click on “Ask a Therapist” to view therapist answers to user-submitted questions or even submit one of your own.
