After School Club Fee Schedule
Cache Valley is experiencing a very tight job market. All industries are facing labor shortages, and our schools are no exception. Due to the difficulty in hiring After School Club (ASC) staff, this past semester we could only open up a limited number of spots at each school.
ASC is primarily funded through different grant sources. These grants require that we maintain a ratio of at least ten students for every adult, and that the percentage of free and reduced lunch participants is at least 50%. During the Spring semester, the available spots will again be limited. Many of our ASC employees are university students and are not back from their winter break when we start ASC. Therefore, it is anticipated that many of you will be added to the waitlist upon your initial application. As we can hire more staff, we will add students from the waitlist in the order of application.
The primary purpose of ASC is to help students with academic support and a safe place to participate in enriching activities. Socioeconomic status is a significant academic risk. Because of limited staffing and high demand, registration for the spring semester will be different than in the past. The Logan City School Board approved this new process on November 15, 2022 in their regular Board meeting.
To prioritize registration to align with the purpose of ASC, there will be a priority registration on December 7th and 8th. Although all students currently receive free lunch, only students who have applied and qualify for free or reduced lunch will be able to register during this window. Once registered, ASC may request verification of free and reduced status.
Students that do not qualify for free and reduced lunch will be able to register at 9:00 am on December 12th using the following sliding scale based on family income. You may be immediately placed on the waitlist on December 12th. We will add students as soon as we have additional staff available.
For students who qualify for free & reduced lunch there is no cost for After School Club.
Fee Scale (Income is based on 20-21 adjusted gross income):
$40,000 -$50,000 $250 per semester
$50,000-$60,000 $350 per semester
$60,000-$70,000 $450 per semester
$70,000 -$80,000 $550 per semester
$80,000 and above $650 per semester
Comparison: Local daycare per semester would be around $900 per semester
