NOTICE OF VACANCY
LOGAN CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD OF EDUCATION
Pursuant to Utah Code §20A-1-511(3), the Logan City School District announces a vacancy for an interim member of the Board of Education serving on behalf of District 3 (Hillcrest Elementary School neighborhood) as replacement for Board Member Larry Williams, who has resigned effective September 24, 2025. The term for the interim Board member will last for a period of approximately thirteen (13) months from October 28, 2025 through December 31, 2026. The District 3 seat is on the election ballot for November 2026. The individual elected to serve in that position will begin their term on January 1, 2027.
Applications from residents of District 3 will be accepted until 3:00 pm on October 8, 2025. Applicants must have lived in the Logan City School District for at least one (1) year, be a bona fide resident of District 3, and must remain a registered voter in District 3 for the duration of their term. Employees of the Logan City School District may not concurrently serve as members of the Logan City School District Board of Education while employed by the District. Therefore, current Logan City School District employees who desire to serve on the Board must be willing to resign from their employment effective October 28, 2025.
Interviews of all applicants will be conducted during the regular meeting of the Board on October 14, 2025 at 5:00pm in the boardroom of the District Office at 101 W Center St., Logan, UT 84321. An interim board member will be selected and appointed in that meeting.
The selected applicant will take the oath of office as the Interim Member of the Logan City School District Board of Education for District 3 during the regular meeting of the Board at 5:00pm on October 28, 2025 in the boardroom of the District Office at 101 W Center St., Logan, Utah 84321.
